OPF Public School D.I.Khan

History

Date of establishment: OPF Public School, Dera Ismail Khan was established in April-1989. Initially it was started with classes at primary level and there were 90 admissions along with 7 Teachers. Later in 1994 it was upgraded to the middle standard. It was during 1996 that the school was further upgraded to the status of High School / Secondary Level School establishment was located in a single building Off Fort Road, accommodating both male and female students. D.I.Khan being at the heart of conflict zone, North Waziristan Agencies bordering its western flanks and given the predominant threats on co-education besides concerns of parents, it became impossible to accommodate both male and female students in a single section of each class even in the same building. So to continue girls classes up to Matric, Boys admissions were stopped for SSC/ High School classes beyond middle standard. To address parents complains and concerns besides to cater for Boy's students a separate building located close-by was hired with the consultation / permission of Higher Authorities during 2006 and with Girls' / Boys' campuses in place, admission for Boys' were offered up to Matric level to increase the strength.
